Walk down memory lane

As I walked through the halls of my old high school with my soon to be 5th grade daughter today, walking toward the principles office to get her registration papers, the old feelings of anxiety and fear flooded over me. I remember all those nightmares I had of showing up at school naked, and I remember all the fabulous times I had with my girl friends during study hall. All the teachers that were my favorites, and of course my Sr. Year was a blast and a breeze. My High school is now the Jr. High building for my daughter. They have build a whole new larger building for the High school for the kids in my home town. Apparently the population is much larger now than it was when I was a kid. We had a mere 50 students in our entire S.r class, it seems there are than many in ONE class ROOM here now, and 4 – 7 classrooms full per grade now.
Anyway, it was great walking around there today. And yet somehow that school so much smaller now than it was back then. I’m not much taller now than I was back then so I don’t get how it could appear larger then than now. Hmmm, figure that one out…
