Getting ready for St. Patty’s Day *Desserts

Posted on | March 14, 2013 | No Comments

SO, for inspiration of what to do, I visited Duncan Hines Facebook page  (and a couple other cooking sites) and was wow’d with what I saw.. The new Frosting Creations from Duncan Hines to make whatever flavor frosting you might want! So, staying with the GREEN theme for St. Patty’s here is what I found to be the most appetizing to me.

Photo: Go green for St. Patty’s day! What’s your favorite shade? Chocolate Mint or Key Lime frosting creations?

This one is Chocolate mint and Key lime. I wouldn’t be able to tell you which I like better between these two, I am mad for them both equally.. see the original post for this one here <—click

They sent me HERE to find this one, creamy Key Lime Coconut Éclair Cake from Plain Chicken.

I think this one is the winner.. I will be making it for our St Patty’s day, although I may be Kicking it up a notch with my own twist to make it a bit more healthy, so stay tuned and check back in next week for the recipe (MY recipe).

HOWEVER:     It appears that there is a theme that all other “cooking themed” places are following for St. Patty’s day.. It seems they all feel that Chocolate Mint is the Rule of thumb for St. Patty’s day. So here are some  very tongue tingling recipes I found very interesting in deed …

There is a Ravishing Mint Chocolate chip Cheesecake recipe that Kellog’s is boasting about RIGHT HERE. It looks something like this…  so if you Must try it, please let me know how you like it, I adore Cheesecake and chocolate mint is one of my TOP 10 favorites in the world of course.

Betty Crocker has offered us this chocolate-Mint Swirl cake that looks like a little slice ofChocolate-Mint Swirl Cake heaven.. Don’t you think?  From Betty’s Soul Food Collection… This rich, decadent cake combines two favorite flavors. The minty glaze is—you guessed it—icing on the cake! Make with a bundt cake pan….

Top o’ the Mornin Lucky Charms® PancakesAlso a Betty Crocker recipe but the focus is on Bisquick Mix on this one (a breakfast dish)

Top o’ the Mornin Lucky Charms® Pancakes all you need is some lucky charms cereal to complete the dish. lol

DIY Shamrock Shakes

Tablespoon offers up these super yummy Shamrock shakes to make for a sweet treat for everyone in the household. No one can deny these little green minty milkshake desserts.

Grasshopper Parfaits recipeYou can’t have St. Patty’s day without Kraft’s Grasshopper Parfaits, a perfect afternoon snack for sure.. These tasty little morsels are perfect for the little one’s, they won’t resist you when you ask them to clean up their rooms when you offer these as a reward.
