New Show this October, Emily Owens MD and it stars this amazingly talented woman, Mamie Gummer. Mamie, who has acting genes embedded in her DNA (her mom is Academy award winner Meryl Streep), stars as Dr. Emily Owens, a first year intern who realizes that the hospital she’s working at feels strangely like… high school.

The jocks are in orthopedics, the popular girls are in plastic surgery, the geeks in neurology… you get the point. It’s a medical drama, but it’s also a coming of age story in a lot of ways. Emily is on the verge of becoming the kind of person she’s always wanted to be. Only problem? Those anxieties and insecurities that she had in high school – the ones she thought she’d outgrow – they’re still there…

She falls for the guy she just just barely within reach of, the one that doesn’t know she exists or he just wants to be friends.. Instead he want’s to be bud’s while he’s dating her nemesis instead…. YEP, High school…. this new show that has been touted by the New York Times as having one of the best breakout actors of the season..
