Introducing the new (IMO: HIT TV SHOW) "Emily Owens MD" executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman, a mom of two who incidentally, wrote the screenplay for "Something Borrowed" and was a writer on "Gilmore Girls” the show stars Mamie Gummer (aka Meryl Streep’s daughter.) I saw the pilot a couple weeks ago and I loved it. I was a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, saw every single episode and season. I know I will not miss one of these also. I know you won’t want to miss one either.

This Fabulous new show is Emily Owens MD and it stars the amazingly talented Mamie Gummer. Mamie, who has acting genes embedded in her DNA (her mom is Academy award winner Meryl Streep), stars as Dr. Emily Owens, a first year intern who realizes that the hospital she’s working at feels strangely like… high school. The jocks are in orthopedics, the popular girls are in plastic surgery, the geeks in neurology… you get the point. It’s a medical drama, but it’s also a coming of age story in a lot of ways. Emily is on the verge of becoming the kind of person she’s always wanted to be. Only problem? Those anxieties and insecurities that she had in high school – the ones she thought she’d outgrow – they’re still there…

Coming soon, (Tuesday October 16th 9/8c) it’s going to be on the CW and the heroine isn’t slutty. She’s smart. And relatable. Plus, it’s a medical drama centering around unrequited love… and who doesn’t like a story about unrequited love? Hot guys, bitchy catty teammates. What more could you ask for.
